That's how I feel. I am happy to own all the consoles and I really only care about the games. The consoles are just devices that let me play games, kind of like a dvd or Blu-ray player allows me to watch movies.
But it irks me when people tell me I am stupid for owning a certain console or a certain game and unfortunately I sometimes let myself get sucked into those pointless arguments.

That's true, but it's not as if the trolling started with Gran Turismo 5. Oh no, the trolling has been going on for years on N4G, and I have to say that the PS3 fans have been guilty of far more consistent trolling than the Wii and 360 fanboys. I don't know exactly why that is true, but it definitely is.
Nothing wrong with second opinions, in my..um..opinion.
Because many of us that are interested in GT5 are also fans of Forza 3. Making inflammatory comments that insult the opinions of others is simply not a good way to conduct oneself.
Besides, these fanboys say the same thing in every Forza article, so it's not like they only say it in GT5 articles.

There is some truth to this. However, this is true of many games.
You could say that Halo Reach would have received higher reviews if people had taken the time to really plumb the depths of all the multiplayer features and modes before writing a review.
The game is great, but why do you have to claim it is the king? Forza 3 has higher scores and many of us think it is a better game, but I don't shout "Forza 3 is the king" in every article. I respect that other people might not agree with my opinion and so I try to avoid making inflammatory comments like that, unless in response to comments like the one you made.

The gameplay is deep and well balanced. That is what makes it a great game.
READ the reviews. Many of them do have issues with the AI, sense of speed, physics, etc. To act like the only criticisms it has received are things like the menus is just disingenuous.

I thought it was well established and accepted that the PS3 has sold at a faster rate than the 360.
Most people just thought that it could be considered a success that Microsoft was able to stay ahead of Sony at all. Given the absolute dominance of the PS1 and PS2, the fact that the Xbox 360 was able to stay ahead of the PS3 --lead or no lead-- is something that still surprises many of us.
The PC is just the convenient go-to that PS3 fanboys use whenever it suits them.
EVERY ps3 fanboy supposedly had a gaming PC back when ME2 was a console exclusive on the 360. But now that it is going to be on the ps3 too suddenly 360 fans have lost something vital. Whatever. I thought all ps3 fans already played it on their gaming PCs?
I honestly get the feeling that IGN is filled with fanboys -- fanboys of consoles, and fanboys of certain developers or franchises.

And when reviewers slap a high score on the game I hear virtually nobody crying that they didn't spend enough time with it.
It's a damn good game, guys. Let's just admit that there was way too much trash talk directed at competing games and too much hype in general, acknowledge the game is a great game many people will really enjoy, and then move on.
